Prince William County

Prince William County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and is part of the Washington Metropolitan Area. The estimated population in 2007 of the county was 383,644, a 36.6% increase since 2000. Its county seat is the independent city of Manassas[1]. It is part of Northern Virginia and is one of the highest-income counties in the United States.

Loudoun County

Loudoun County (pronounced “LOUD-un”) is a county located in Northern Virginia, and is part of the Washington Metropolitan Area. As of July 2006, the county is estimated to be home to 268,817 people, a 58% increase over the 2000 figure of 169,599. That increase makes the county the fastest growing in the United States during that period. As of 2007, the town of Leesburg had been county seat for 249 of the last 250 years.

Fairfax County

Fairfax County is a county in Northern Virginia, in the United States. As of April 2009[update], the estimated population of the county is 1,037,605[1] making it by far the most populous jurisdiction in the Commonwealth of Virginia, with 13.1% of Virginia’s population, and the most populous jurisdiction in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Fairfax was the first county in the United States to reach a six-figure median household income, and has the second-highest median household income of any county with a population of 250,000 or more in the United States after neighboring Loudoun County.[2]

Chantilly Virginia

Chantilly is an unincorporated community located in western Fairfax County and southeastern Loudoun County of Northern Virginia. Recognized by the U.S. Census Bureau as a census designated place (CDP), the community population was 41,041 as of the 2000 census. It is named after the town of the same name in France.

Chantilly is part of the Washington metropolitan area and is approximately 24 miles from Washington, D.C.

Chantilly is home to Washington Dulles International Airport, which serves Washington, D.C. It is also the location of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center annex of the National Air & Space Museum and the headquarters of the National Reconnaissance Office.
Demographics

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 41,041 people, 14,840 households, and 10,521 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 3,519.4 people per square mile. There were 15,173 housing units at an average density of 1,301.1/sq mi. The racial makeup of the CDP was 73.34% White, 4.99% African American, 0.29% Native American, 16.36% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 2.01% from other races, and 2.96% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.87% of the population.

There were 14,840 households out of which 38.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.6% were married couples living together, 7.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.1% were non-families. 20.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.24.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 26.1% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 38.4% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 4.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 98.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.1 males.

According to a 2007 estimate, the median income for a household in the CDP was $105,838, and the median income for a family was $126,290. Males had a median income of $61,954 versus $41,608 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $36,200. About 1.3% of families and 2.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.7% of those under age 18 and 5.5% of those age 65 or over.

The area is seen by many as a “boom town” with more development planned for the future alongside ongoing construction throughout. Chantilly is home to many professionals including physicians that contract with the nearby airports and the government.
